Studio Time.

So,

We spent friday, saturday, sunday and monday (7,8,9 and 10th of August) plugging away at Couch Studio.

We were very happy with the outcome of those four days. We have managed to track 14 tracks. Only the drums and bass have been tracked so far, but because of Russ' and my countless hours of practice, it paid off well. this meant that Alex could get a couple of acoustic tracks down also. Bonus!!

We would like to thank Subway, for the sustanance that they offered each day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nothing like a steak n gravy sub for brekky hey Russ?? Yeh, get it in ya!! Oh and of course Shaun's fucking amazing coffees!!! OMG, they were unreal. I swear, go to Couch Studio just for a coffee!!!

I am trying to work out how I can convert some videos to put them up here, but ain't having too much luck :( If worst comes to worst I will put them up on Youtube and post a link.

Well, that's where we are at for now. We are going to be putting some more time in on the album throughout the next few months. some tracking will be getting done at Western Lantern Studios and some more time at Couch.

Later.

Day 3

Haven't had a chance to blog in regards to day one and two, so here's an update!

Heading in for day today!

Things are going swiminginly well!!
At the moment we are concentrating on laying the beds for all songs. Just drums and bass, but more importantly drums. If I happen to lay a good track down with my bass then that's a bonus at the moment.
So far after two days we have put down 7 tracks which we are extremely happy about and I must say they sound very tasty!! Russ is on fire! Everything that we want from Russ' HUGE range of tom's, snare's, hi-hat's and cymbals is showing up beautifully in the tracks.

So, I have to leave for the studio for day three (is it ironic that it is also day three in the cricket??). Hopefully today goes as well as the Aussies did in the Ashes yesterday!!!

Photos, interviews and videos coming VERY soon!!

Debut album starts today!!

G'day!!

Well, I thought I would try and document our studio time at Couch Studio recording our debut album.

If you weren't familiar with our latest releases, we have previously released 'The Autumn Isles Present A Beautiful Pantomime' in 2006 and 'Wishlists And Sunken Lands' in 2008 (Wishlists is available from iTunes). So as the musical journey continues, of course the next thing a band does after releasing two EP's is release an LP.

We're pretty excited about the new album.

We have recorded 14 songs as demo's that we have in mind to go on the album, but I am sure that a couple may end up as B-sides.

SO!! Wish us good luck, and stay tuned for some more Isles blogs!!!
